School Visits

At the Leeds Chocolate Factory we are keen to share the secrets of chocolate with the next generation.

Leeds Chocolate Factory is ideal for school groups of all ages to visit and combine a learning experience with a whole lot of fun. Starting with the manufacturing process, students will gain a real and practical understanding of a total product life cycle.

Fun

At Leeds Chocolate Factory we offer a chocolate making experience like no other… During our workshops, we aim to explore the fun side of chocolate making. All our events are hosted by a fabulous team of experienced chocolatiers, many who have worked in education or have children of their own.

Bespoke

We cater to weekend activities for boarders, to in school and after school extra curriculum activities, Leeds Chocolate Factory can host bespoke chocolate making workshops, tailored to the interests and ages of the participants.

Popular

Our chocolate-making workshops for schools can be simply for fun or there can be an educational twist. Chocolate is almost universally popular and so we have found our past workshops to be much enjoyed, inclusive activities, with laughs and smiles all round!

At the Leeds Chocolate Factory our sessions tend to start with planning and designing on paper, looking at design, colours and flavours; before moving onto a demonstration from one of our chocolatiers and finally the hands-on chocolate-making!

Be Chocolatiers for the day!

Chocolate-making can be a fun educational vehicle for developing numeracy, design, business and artistic skills learnt in the class room. Under the guise of ‘running a chocolate shop’, pupils will work in teams to design and make bespoke chocolates, which they then go onto pitch to their peers. Different levels of complexity can be added into this activity from costings, to packaging design and marketing- depending on the age and interests of the children

We can cater a chocolate workshop to most subjects and are happy to work with teachers to create a bespoke lesson designed with their pupils in mind.

The Leeds Chocolate Factory run School Workshops that are the ideal complement to classroom teaching and are a real favourite amongst teachers (and kids funnily enough).

We work with teachers to ensure their teaching is supported, each session is run by one of our experienced chocolatiers, so that much of the pressure is taken off teachers’ shoulders

Our workshops have relevance to important aspects of the National Curriculum at both Primary and Secondary School level bringing subjects such as English Literature, History, Geography, Business and Food Technology to life.

As with all successful lessons, we make our sessions interactive, hands-on and fun. And we’re yet to meet a pupil who isn’t overjoyed at the thought of swapping a traditional lesson for one brimming with chocolate.

Venue location: We are happy to bring our chocolate-making equipment to your school. We would ideally like access to a kitchen (perhaps a home economics class room), but can run the event in an alternative room provided there is access to running water, electricity and wipe-clean tables, chairs and flooring (chairs and flooring not essential, but there can be spills or accidents and chocolate is difficult to remove from soft furnishings)

Should your school wish to visit we offer special pricing for all students and free entry for teachers and parent/helpers. Please contact us for bookings and further information.
